I began gaining professional experience during my studies, working at the Women’s Rights Center Foundation in Gdańsk with women experiencing violence. Later, I developed my competencies in this area as a psychologist at the Victim Assistance Center under the Ministry of Justice. Currently, I am a board member of a young foundation fighting against violence and discrimination – Sea of Help.
I work in the cognitive-behavioral field, which gives me great joy to explore. My motivation is the opportunity to share knowledge, and thus its effectiveness and improving the quality of life of others. My clients are of great value to me, as the work itself is my life’s passion. I care about supporting other people and discovering together the changes that occur during therapy.
Privately, my second love (after psychotherapy) is animals. Working with people who have experienced trauma has taught me that it is always possible to improve one’s quality of life. I think it’s worth it – in fact, necessary! – to seek help when we need it, as anyone can experience a crisis. However, I know that such a decision is often very difficult and requires a lot of courage, so I always strive to guide my work with compassion and understanding for the other person and their needs.
I only accept adult clients and do not work with children. I have experience working with individuals who have experienced emotional crises or struggle with difficult experiences from the past.

Marta Bownik-Bączek
Psychologist, sexologist, cognitive-behavioral psychotherapist in the process of certification.
I completed a five-year unified master’s degree in psychology with a specialization in clinical psychology of children and adults at the University of Gdańsk. I also completed postgraduate studies in clinical sexology at SWPS University in Sopot. Currently, I am in the midst of a four-year school of cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy at the Cognitive Institute.
I also completed postgraduate studies in clinical sexology at SWPS University in Sopot.
I have many years of experience working with children, adolescents, and parents, which I gained while working at the Psychological and Pedagogical Counseling Center in Malbork, primary schools, high schools, the Center for Children and Youth with Autism in Malbork, the Community Self-Help Home in Malbork, and through cooperation on projects with the Empowering Children Foundation in Starogard Gdański. I still work at two counseling centers for children and youth (as mentioned above) and at the “As” Foundation Counseling Center for Children and Youth in Malbork (NFZ).
I conduct individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults. For years, I have been training and supporting parents through workshop classes ‘School for Parents and Educators’ recommended by ORE. The type of support provided is tailored to the specific needs of the individual or couple. I offer counseling in child, adolescent, and adult sexology, as well as sexual education classes for youth, always with parental consent. I also conduct individual therapy for children, adolescents, and adults.
Therapeutic work constantly brings me satisfaction from the opportunity to empathetically accompany patients in the process of making positive changes in their lives. Personally, I am a mother of three children aged 17, 13, and 11 (two sons and a daughter). I am a lover and owner of dogs and cats. I love forest walks, adore the sea and mountains. My passions include film, photography, and painting.
